What is it used for?
Licensed uses include ringworm, athlete’s foot, fungal groin and hand infections, skin candidiasis, pityriasis versicolor and seborrhoeic dermatitis associated with Malassezia yeast. It is not a treatment for every rash; your clinician will assess the diagnosis.

How to use
Follow your prescription label and the supplied leaflet. Usually, apply once or twice daily to clean, dry affected skin and the surrounding area. Wash your hands afterwards unless treating them. Treatment commonly lasts 2–6 weeks depending on the condition. Continue as directed, including a few days after symptoms resolve. Seek review if there is no improvement after four weeks, or sooner if symptoms worsen.

Before treatment
For adults aged 18 and over. Do not use if allergic to ketoconazole or another ingredient. For external skin use only; avoid eyes and do not swallow. Tell your clinician about other medicines, especially steroid creams; prolonged steroid treatment may need gradual withdrawal. If pregnant or breastfeeding, discuss use with your clinician.

Possible side effects
Burning, redness or itching may occur. Stop use and seek medical advice for severe irritation, blistering, peeling or allergy symptoms. Get emergency help for breathing difficulty or swelling of the face, lips or tongue.

Ingredients and storage
Each gram contains 20mg ketoconazole. Other ingredients: propylene glycol, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, sorbitan stearate, polysorbate 60, polysorbate 80, sodium sulphite (E221), isopropyl myristate and purified water. Some ingredients may cause local irritation or contact dermatitis.
Store in the original packaging below 25°C, away from children. Do not use after expiry.

Patient information
Read the patient information leaflet. Always read the leaflet supplied with your medicine. Packaging may vary from the image shown.
