Nutricia Calogen Strawberry 200ml

Nutricia Calogen is a high energy fat emulsion nutritional supplement drink for patients that are struggling to or at risk of not meeting their daily energy requirements. Nutricia Calogen 200ml is a strawberry flavoured ready-to-drink bottle that contains 2 days worth of the recommended standard intake. This product is for use under medical supervision. Indications

For enteral use only. ACBS approved, prescribable on form FP10 (GP10 in Scotland) for the following indications: disease related malnutrition; malabsorption states, or other conditions requiring fortification with a high fat supplement with or without fluid and electrolyte restriction.

Contra-Indications

Not suitable as a sole source of nutrition. Not suitable for children under 3 years of age. Not suitable for patients with galactosaemia.

Precautions

Use with caution in childen aged 3-6 years. Must be used under medical supervision.

Preparation and directions for usage

Shake well before opening. Dosage should be determined by a clinician or dietitian and is dependent on the age, bodyweight and medical condition of the patient. The recommended daily dose is 3 x 30ml unless specified by a clinician or dietitian. Can be taken undiluted or diluted with milk or water. It can also be mixed into foods. It may need to be diluted for children under 5 years of age.

Ingredients

Strawberry flavour: Vegetable oils (rapeseed oil, sunflower oil), demineralised water, sugar, emulsifier (citric acid esters of mono and diglycerides of fatty acids), flavouring, colour (carmine) (E120).

Shelf life

12 months. Best before date: see side of bottle.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place (5-25°C) and away from direct sunlight. Once opened, close the bottle and store in a refrigerator for a maximum of 14 days. Calogen is not suitable for freezing. Always replace lid after use.
